WHAT: The RMSC’s Museum, Planetarium, and Cumming Nature Center will have a number of fun activities available for families during Spring School Break (March 27 - April 4). Some highlights include:

• Hands-on, minds-on activities at the RMSC Museum: Families can explore the universe with an RMSC Passport, make Glacial Gak and learn about the Ice Age, design a paper roller coaster, join our Sail Boat Regatta, and more! • Get an up-close look at our new Frederick Douglass collection: Visitors can view and learn more about some objects in our new collection, The Anne Weaver Teabeau and Roland B. Scott Jr. Collection on Frederick Douglass. Objects within this collection are related to Frederick Douglass and his family. This collection will be available to view on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday during Spring Break (March 27 - April 4).

• Science Encounters and Pop-Up Demos: Learn about physics, chemistry, nanotechnology, and everything in between! Science Encounters take place throughout our exhibit galleries on our mobile cart and are accessible to children and adults of all ages. At the end of the week, our RMSC educators will share a Volcanic Explosion demonstration! 
• Check out the Planetarium’s newest show, Black Holes Revealed: In a black hole, gravity triumphs over all other forces, bringing space and time to an end. Black holes are almost unbelievable, but multiple clues now tell us they are real. To find out about these bizarre objects, we’ll fly to the center of the Milky Way, out to a dying star, and back to the early universe. Showtimes can be found on the RMSC website, RMSC.org/blackholes
• Spring-themed hikes at the Nature Center: Cumming Nature Center will be open every day during Spring Break, including Monday and Tuesday. There will be guided hikes and activities Tuesday through Friday for walk-in visitors and families, along with self-guided explorations throughout the day.
