WHAT: 

The RMSC Museum & Science Center is screening The Marvelous Martha on Tuesday, June 21. Doors will open at 6:30pm and the screening starts at 7pm. 

 

The documentary will uncover the incredible story of how Martha Matilda Harper, forgottenRochester business genius, succeeded with the help of the Rochester community and Susan B. Anthony.  Harper's story is an inspirational tale of how one individual can overcome the odds and make use of hardships to create a legacy that touches generations. Discover how Harper freed herself after 25 years of servitude. In this stellar documentary, learn how she capitalized on that servitude and her Rapunzel-like hair to launch the first modern retail chain of over 500 beauty shops around the world! 

 

This is an event you won't want to miss, with a Q&A after the screening with biographer and producer, Jane Plitt, who will share why she pursued the story and how she was helped by dedicated Harperites.
