Wonders of Water Opening Weekend

Saturday, November 12–Sunday, November 13 | 11am – 3pm
Immerse yourself in watery activities to celebrate the opening weekend of our new exhibit, Wonders of Water! Join us for the unveiling of our new exhibit and explore activities about the scientific, environmental, and cultural aspects of water.
All activities are included with Science Museum admission. Please note that tickets to the Planetarium Show are a separate charge.
DAILY SCHEDULE:
- Everyday Activism: (Saturday) Make or create your very own button and learn about simple ways to help protect and conserve water for the future generations.
- ASL Story time with RSD: (Saturday) In collaboration with Rochester School of the Deaf, experience an ASL story time of We Are the Water Protectors by Carole Lindstrom.
- Artful Science: (Saturday & Sunday) Create textured watercolor bookmarks! Experiment with water and salt to create aquatic themed one-of-a-kind bookmarks to take home!
- Properties of Water: (Saturday & Sunday) Experience live demonstrations to discover the properties of water.
- Explore a Lifesize Shipwreck: (Saturday & Sunday) Enter into an abandoned shipwreck to explore the USS Scourge!
- Pilot a Ship!: (Saturday & Sunday)Pilot a Remotely Operated Vehicle (ROV) to discover what is at the bottom of Lake Ontario.
- Climb Water: (Saturday & Sunday) Okay, so you can't actually climb on water BUT! You can ascend a colossal interactive fishing-net structure while learning about local aquatic species and changing water temps.
